Personal Statement
I strive to create a safe, comfortable and open atmosphere for clients, a place for them to take time out for themselves for self-exploration and personal understanding. I believe change occurs through the therapeutic relationship and through offering clients empowerment and self-determination over their lives. I believe in a strength-based approach to treatment and helping families find natural community supports. In working with clients I emphasize the importance of increasing communication skills and self-insight in order to create positive and healthy interpersonal relationships.

I have more than 12 years of experience working with children and families. This includes seven years as a residential clinician, working with emotionally disturbed adolescents who were placed by the courts in a therapeutic residential treatment center. In addition, I managed the Wraparound Program in Ventura County and was a manager with the county mental health system. I have eight years of experience in private practice.
