Personal Statement
Everyone’s life includes some difficulties, but I specialize in working with people who are struggling to deal with the aftermath of deep traumas such as rape, sexual or physical abuse, serious accidents or unresolved pain from very damaging childhoods or past relationships. Sometimes their pain causes them to lash out at others in anger or retreat from life in an attempt to protect themselves. However, healing and transformation is possible through the therapeutic process. I was trained as a rape crisis advocate and trauma recovery counselor at the Valley Trauma Center in Northridge, Calif., and have helped many rape victims heal and integrate their experience. Many of them have achieved a better-quality life than they had before the assault.

I also have extensive experience working with individuals and couples in the areas of anxiety disorders, depression and relationship problems. In addition, I worked with morbidly obese clients as a group therapy counselor and behaviorist at UCLA Medical Center, Encino-Tarzana Medical Center and Health Management Resources.

I am very excited about a special new therapeutic technique I trained in recently, known as Lifespan Integration (LI). This gentle method, based on cutting-edge research in neuroscience and human attachment theories, promotes rapid healing in adults who experienced childhood abuse and/or neglect. LI works on a deep, neural level to change patterned responses and outmoded defensive strategies, “re-setting” clients’ neural systems to better match their current lives. Clients report reacting to current stressors in more age-appropriate ways, rather than being triggered and reverting to behaving as wounded children. LI also benefits clients who are recovering from recent traumas or were diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder.

As a Christian, I enjoy providing integrated faith-based therapy to those who seek it.

Whatever area of your life needs attention, therapy can provide a caring and non-judgmental environment where we can face your troubles, explore your thoughts and feelings, and walk through the healing process. With the trust and safety we create, our therapeutic relationship can provide the foundation for you to move your life to a new level of functionality and fulfillment…now.
